In the sight of God
“For every one that doeth evil
hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be
reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be
made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 3:20-21 KJV
Matthew
Henry’s commentary on the Gospel of John chapter three says that God’s wrath
has a strangle hold on man. Man is fastened by it and condemned for
destruction. Jesus in the remedy given by God for man to save himself and
rejecting this remedy is sin by itself.
The
work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration and conviction is expressed in the John
chapter 3. A believer stands on a different ground compared to an unbeliever. A
believer stands on righteous ground on which this forgiveness of God is built
upon. On this righteous ground the believer finds rest and in united to God by
unfeigned love of Christ Jesus. Without Jesus man profits nothing. Unless we
eat the bread of life and drink his blood, we have no resurrection on the last
day. (John 6:53-55)
A regenerated
believer living on the Bread of Life daily stands before the Light of the world
and sees the world through this light that shines and illuminates the world
around him. Holy Spirit that proceeds from Jesus shows the will of the Father to
the believer and all his work which is manifested in God. “But when the
Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit
of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also
shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.” John 15:
26-27.
A
believer who stands on the righteous ground built upon Christ and regenerated
by the Holy Ghost that proceeds from Christ works the will of God. Whatever he
sees through the light and does, it is the will God and a testimony for the
world of darkness. What they have done or do is done in the sight of God.
In Christ love.
